Mud in the eye.

Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not preceive the log in your own? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,’ when you do not even notice the log in your own eye? You hypocrite! Remove the log from your eye first, then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from you brother’s eye.” (Luke 6:41-46)

Let's pretend you' re a jockey
your job's to stay fit,
To ride on a stallion
and never to quit.

Stay the right size, shape, weight, and height,
with correct dispostion and leadership fight.
Your relationship with the elegant beast,
is essential to provided a winning feast.

With every practice, each race and public display,
you are expected to preform without diviation or delay,

Day after day, dealing with the same eager folk,
who yearn for a champion, not a burden yoke.

Eventually mud --will come flying,
no matter how hard
it is you are trying.

Yes, mud from the ground,
as you ride round and round
on that dirt track,
but also mud
from the people who "have your back."

Everyone a critic. Everyone a judge.
All dreaming of winning, of celebration, of success.

Most mud you can take, cause it just wipes away,
but other mud it sticks and hardens like clay.
But the worst mud of all is the projection of feelings,
that others cast out to aviod their own dealings.
To pull you aside after a successful win,
blaming you for not tending to them.
Words masquarding, "I am worried bout you,"
never once noticing, all the things you must do,
to get ready to run with that most elegant beast.

Gas lighting at it's finest and the flames can get hot.
This "mud in the eye" feels like a shot.
And any attempt to direct things toward health
only adds insult cause they can't them self.

It is they that have pain, but they can not see,
how their eye is blinded, so they throw it at thee.

And your left wiping
away all that mud.
Standing alone, feeling like crud.

When this happens to you
Don't be dismayed,
For it's only the devil
wanting to play.

The accuser he is
will use any measure.
To make you feel less
and without pleasure.

Tell him to back off
then turn quickly around
To find your joy
For in Christ you've been found.
